Performance Engineer
Our Client is a world leader in the development and manufacture of diesel engines and has global responsibility for developing technology to support future product needs.
A position has become available in the Performance and Emissions department which is an excellent opportunity to join a highly flexible and dedicated team focused on the delivery of exceptional engine performance and you will play a key role in the continued success of the company, dealing with current product concerns and New Product Introduction (NPI).
The Role:
The position is part of a team of engineers responsible for the performance and emissions development of Diesel engine products used in a wide range of machine, industrial and electric power applications
The performance and emissions team play a critical role in specifying the critical characteristics of key components and combining them to deliver exceptional system level engine performance
Key roles include collaboration with the CPPD, V&V, CAE, Applications and MIT teams, overseeing and coordinating engine development work, reviewing test data to ensure quality and post-test data analysis
A significant element is the development of electronic engine calibration maps that will be utilised in the engine control software.
You could also be involved in supporting engine system simulation or regeneration strategy development to enable the engine to meet customer s performance expectations and all emission regulations
You will serve as an experienced, individual contributor for engine emissions and performance development projects. Specific assignments are complex in nature and support the performance and emissions development of engine products for Tier4 products
Requirements:
Accredited Engineering degree or equivalent
Ideally 4 - 7 years of experience in engine performance and emissions development for Diesel engines, but candidates with other relevant experience and skills will also be considered
Knowledge of engine or machine simulation/test techniques is highly valued
Specific experience of electronic control systems would also be beneficial
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the capability and desire to work in a pressurised team environment
A proven self-starter who is motivated to deliver high quality service, on-time, to customers at the lowest cost
